Facebook recently let it slip through its blue cracks that they are working on a possible plug-in, which will allow users to “want” certain items on websites across the web.
Prompting an “error” message when executed, the “want” action is currently inactive. When clicked, it displays the following message: “not allowed to create actions of type product:product.wants for user.”
Even though it may seem a little weird, the "want" button could really gain some traction with businesses that want immediate feedback from customers. It's like window-shopping over the internet... but less depressing.
Waddington agrees that Facebook could build “a universal wishlist” for each user with this feature.
Considering that this is still a work-in-progress, there is a 50/50 chance that this can make its way to fruition. As unpredictable as Facebook has proven to be, all we can do is wait and see.
In the meantime, can Facebook please invent a “have” button? That would be awesome!"
