Female Jogger, 24, Groped in Central Park by Gang Who Surrounded Her and Asked for a Kiss

A jogger was surrounded by a group of male teenagers and forcibly groped in New York City's Central Park on Friday with the suspect still on the loose according to police.

Police say the 24-year-old woman was running near the northern edge of the park around 8.30 pm on Friday when five teens approached her seeking a ‘kiss.’

When she rebuffed them one of the teens, believed to be about 14-years-old, touched her groin and ran off.

She described the boy being about 5-feet, 5-inches tall with buck teeth.

He was wearing a grey hoodie and carrying a backpack.

Women's safety in the iconic park has been a hot-button subject since an investment banker was raped and nearly killed while running there in 1989.

Her ordeal became known as the 'Central Park jogger' case with five juveniles convicted in the crime before DNA evidence overturned their conviction with a separate man's arrest.

This September, a man was charged with raping a 73-year-old birdwatcher around 11am in the park around the area memorializing musician John Lennon named Strawberry Fields.
