A Magic-Missing High-Summit Clash That Ended Goalless

Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Paris Saint-Germain’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic failed to produce a single goal in a disappointing star-studded clash in the group stage of the 2015–2016 UEFA Champions League at Parc de Princes.

The two teams played out at 0–0 leaving them level on 7 points each, from their first three encounters, at the top of Group A at the competition’s midway point. The Spaniards stayed number one in the table due to their superior goal difference.

Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani did come close to scoring but ended goalless despite attacking expertise. Real’s all-time top scorer Ronaldo failed to add to his record tally of Champions League goals and disappeared from the field on the final whistle.

Up until that point, both teams were unbeaten in the tournament that was eventually won by Real Madrid with Ronaldo top-scoring with 16 goals.
