Brazilian Luis Assuncao Garla Won World Series of Poker 2020

In the Event #55: HK$8,000 of World Series of Poker online, Brazilian poker player Luis Assuncao Garla won the field of 3,247 with USD 461,709 plus his first gold bracelet.

With this, Luis Assuncao Garla has become the 6th player to win Natural8 team bling sponsorship. It is a six months sponsorship plus Las Vegas package worth USD 15,000 that breaks down to USD 10,000 to cover buy-ins and USD 5,000 for expenses.

The final prize pool was of USD 3,208,036 with 3,247 total entries. Luis Assuncao Garla entered the nine-handed table with chips worth 39.1 million, worth around 78 blinds. Before his first elimination, he was able to extend his lead. In the match, Luis Assuncao Garla, Seth Fischer, and Anatoly Suvarov formed a shining trio. To win, Luis Assuncao Garla defeated poker coach Alexandros Theologis in heads up and received HKD 3,551,611.32 (USD 461,709) and a gold bracelet (3rd time for Brazil).

Since 2017, the Indian players have won gold bracelets for three years in a row. However, this year two Indian players, i.e., Kunal Bhatia and Divanshu Khurana, have failed to strike the distance of gold bracelet, despite being the frontrunners in the Event #55. Bhatia has grabbed the third position this year with USD 234,610 after Alexandros, who earned USD 329,122 as of the runner up of this poker championship.
