Two Firefighters Injured While Helping to Put Out a Fire

Two firefighters from the Baltimore City Fire Department got injured while saving a house on fire. The fire started after 1 pm on Tuesday afternoon. According to the fire fighting officials, the two-story building that caught fire was lying vacant in the 1900 block of Wilkens Ave for quite some time.

The firefighting crew was able to put the flames under control after an hour. Two of the firefighters were injured. The injuries were not life-threatening and were eventually treated for it. The cause of the fire is yet to be investigated. The fire brigade team thinks they are fortunate the fire extinguishers are safe now. A witness reported that they heard some explosions after the fire.
