Three Brits Awarded Nobel Prize For Physics for Revealing Secrets of Exotic Matter

This year’s Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to David Thouless, Duncan Haldane, and Michael Kosterlitz. Three of these Brits won the award for their research in revealing the secrets of ‘exotic matter.’

They were awarded for their remarkable research and work that made the world aware of the mystery behind the exotic matter and its unusual phases/states. They used mathematical modeling to go through and study the unusual aspects of matter which consist of superconductors, superfluids, and thin magnetic films. Their combined working and research have contributed to the world of physics in explaining the peculiar properties and stages of matter.

They have worked on how the matter acts in extreme conditions and how unusual properties of quantum start to come into action. For instance, they discovered the lack of resistance capacity of the conductors in an extremely cool state.
