VeChain, Renji Hospital, and DNV GL Launch Tumor Treatment Center
One of China’s biggest hospitals, Renji Hospital, has joined hands with enterprise blockchain solutions company VeChain, and global risk management and quality assurance firm DNV GL, to launch a tumor treatment center in Shanghai. This will be the world’s first blockchain-powered Intelligent Tumor Center and will ensure transparency, efficiency, and traceability via VeChain’s ToolChain.

The blockchain revolution is taking over several industries all over the world, and healthcare is no exception. Giants like VeChain and DNV GL have, therefore, taken the initiative to implement the benefits of blockchain technology for promoting global healthcare. Working with the two global giants allows Renji Hospital to provide better treatment for patients and conduct efficient research on tumors.
Commenting on the alliance, Vice President of Renji Hospital, Zhang Jidong, said that it is intended to enhance the hospital’s quality of treatment. Zhang also added that the hospitals would boost its facilities by applying blockchain to more use cases. VeChain Co-Founder & CEO Sunny Lu said that VeChain looks forward to accelerating the healthcare industry’s digital transformation and exhibiting its benefits and flexibility as an enhanced blockchain platform.
DNV GL Senior Vice President George Kang commented that the quality assurance and risk management firm intends to provide more services to Renji Hospital through independent and objective evaluation. They are focused on improving service quality and experience and helping the hospital achieve higher standards and quality.
In the official statement on Medium, it was stated that the trio is working to find more use cases for practical application of blockchain in the medical and healthcare industry in China and other regions. Prior to this, Renji Hospital also joined the Digital Carbon Ecosystem led by VeChain and DNV Gl.
