PETA lashed out at Ivanka Trump, for wearing a hat made of original rabbit fur. Ingrid Newkirk, PETA’s president, said the organization was appalled as Ivanka mostly uses faux fur for her wardrobe. The organization has issued an open letter to the expectant mom asking her to remove the rabbit fur pompom on a cable knit beanie from her winter collection. PETA has also shared gory details of how such animals are skinned, live in slaughterhouses in China. Most of Ivanka’s collections feature animal-friendly faux fur, and PETA has thus urged her ‘to do the right thing’ and abandon using real fur like other major brands. Ivanka and her daughter had worn fur-lined coats this winter while on a walk in their New York City neighborhood, but it was possibly faux fur. However, fur-lined clothing has always been extensively used by the members of her family on different occasions.
