It was quite an interesting debate hosted by BBC, and in this heated debate, Sadiq Khan accused Boris Johnson and all his colleagues who are patronizing Leave EU campaign of scaremongering and rumor-mongering. Khan went on to accuse that people who are pitching that the UK must leave the European Union is fear-mongering among the masses and projected that the campaign is against all the immigrants. The Mayor of London claimed that disinformation had been propagated among UK residents that Turkey would be joining the EU, and as a result of that, the border of the union would be extended to Iraq and Syria. However, the response to Boris Johnson’s claim that the day of exiting from the European Union will be celebrated as Independence Day in the UK was tremendous, with many sections in the audience gave the leader standing ovation at his claim.
